Medical information system «Smart»
From appointments and the admissions department to discharge summaries, pharmacy, laboratory and statistics — in one system. It runs on ordinary office hardware with any version of Windows from XP onwards and the free Microsoft SQL Server Express: no expensive servers, no PC fleet upgrades and no database licences for facilities with up to 50 workstations.
- 13Modules — from registration to HR
- 30–50Workstations on an entry-level server
- ICD-10Diagnoses by the international classification
Why it is inexpensive to run
- a server for 30–50 workstations is an ordinary entry-level computer, not a server rack
- the free Microsoft SQL Server Express database for small and medium facilities; Standard only above 50 workstations or when more performance is needed
- workstations are any office PCs with Windows from XP onwards: the system runs on older computers too, so upgrading the fleet is optional
- the client runs on the free Microsoft Access Runtime
- reports and forms in Excel, PDF or the free LibreOffice
- modules are enabled as needed: the facility pays for what it uses
- branches and remote offices work with the same server over a secure VPN connection

Hardware
No "super servers"
The system runs on any version of Windows from XP onwards; below are recommendations for new hardware. Reliable components matter more than raw power.
Workstation
- Windows XP or later, the free Microsoft Access Runtime; for reports — Microsoft Office or the free LibreOffice;
- minimum: 1.5 GHz processor, 1 GB of memory, 100 Mbit network, 1280×1024 monitor — existing older PCs will do;
- for new hardware: Core i3 / Ryzen 3, 8 GB, SSD from 256 GB, 1 Gbit network, 21–24″ Full HD monitor;
- if needed: barcode scanner, biometric ID reader, printer.
Server for up to 50 workstations
- quad-core processor, Core i3/i5 or Ryzen 5 class;
- 16 GB of memory;
- two SSDs from 500 GB in a mirrored array (RAID 1);
- 1 Gbit network, uninterruptible power supply;
- Windows (desktop Pro or Windows Server);
- database — the free Microsoft SQL Server Express.
Server for more than 50 workstations
- Core i5/i7 or Xeon;
- 32 GB of memory or more;
- SSDs in RAID 1 or RAID 10;
- 1 Gbit network or faster;
- Windows Server;
- database — Microsoft SQL Server Standard.
Data protection
Security and reliability
Access
- login with user name and password;
- role-based access to data.
Logs
- complete logging of user actions.
Backup
- backup and archiving at set intervals;
- data exchange between departments over a secure VPN.
